Time is money.
And perhaps that mantra is no truer than when applied to the real estate industry.
When you’re taking first-time buyers to look at houses, solidifying contracts, calling loan managers, prospecting, and planning out the rest of the week’s house hunting adventures, the more you do, the more money you’ll make.
But, of course, there are only 24 hours in a day. And after you’ve dedicated time to sleeping, family, commuting, and actually doing something that you enjoy, you only have about 8 to 10 work-hours left per day.
So, in line with our mission statement here at Carrot — “Add humanity to business and help people regain time for the things that matter” — here are eight real estate marketing tools that will save you about ten hours per week.
Real Estate Marketing Tool #1: HARO (Help A Reporter Out)
The more high-quality backlinks you have to your website, the better your SEO rankings. The better your SEO rankings, the more traffic you drive to your website, passively.
And perhaps there’s no better method for generating consistent backlinks to your domain than by using HARO. You could spend about 10 minutes every day and build anywhere from 5 to 10 new backlinks every single month.
You can sign up for free or use one of HARO’s paid plans (but I’ve found the free version to be sufficient). Once you sign up, HARO will send you daily article prompts. Then, you choose which ones are relevant to your field and email a proposed contribution to the author of the article. Many of the pieces will go live on Forbes, Huffington Post, and other prestigious publications. Which means that a backlink is wildly valuable for your website’s domain authority.
Of course, the author doesn’t have to use your contribution, but sometimes they will. And each time that they do is a free backlink you generated in very little time.
Real Estate Marketing Tool #2: YesWare
Sick of wondering what happens to your emails after you send them? Yesware can you help you for as little as $12 per user/month. Once connected to your email account, this software will tell you if and when someone opens your email and even if they clicked any attachments within the email.
With that kind of information, you can avoid following up with people who simply aren’t interested, pursue the people who are, and avoid spam inboxes to a much higher degree.
Knowledge is power. And Yesware gives you the knowledge you need for an effective email marketing campaign.
Real Estate Marketing Tool #3: Buffer
Everyone is telling you to be more active on your social media accounts, but doing so is easier said than done — partly because you have to remember to post each day. And when you have a million other things to do, remembering is often the hardest part.
With Buffer’s free or paid plans, you can schedule social media posts and track their effectiveness all in one place. Just connect your accounts (which is super easy) and then start publishing content at each place without opening up 5 different web browsing tabs.
You do need to be active on your social media accounts, but you don’t have to spend loads of time to do so.
Real Estate Marketing Tool #4: BombBomb
Maybe you hate sitting down and writing emails. Or maybe you simply want to leverage the time-saving, relationship-building benefits of video communication.
Rather than spending hours writing emails to prospects, you can use BombBomb to send videos over email for as little as $39 per month. This will save you time because you can record videos instead of writing emails. Plus, it’s a far more personable mode of communication with your leads and prospects than a text-written email.
BombBomb may not have been created for the real estate industry specifically, but it sure fits in well.
Real Estate Marketing Tool #5: Hours
If you don’t know how you’re currently spending time, it’s practically impossible to save time. Hours makes tracking your days, hours, and minutes easy. Its app allows you to track your time blocks with a few simple swipes. Then, at the end of the week, you can look back and see how you spent your time.
The first trick to saving time is knowing how you’re currently spending time. You might be surprised to find underutilized gaps in your schedule. Or you might realize that you’re spending too much time on things that would be better delegated to someone else.
Either way, Hours can help you find those time-spending discrepancies.
Real Estate Marketing Tool #6: CityMaps
If you’re a real estate agent, then you’ve encountered this scenario — someone is considering moving to your city of operation from out of state. Which means they don’t know the area that they’re moving to, making them hesitant about whether it’s a good decision or not for the family. When they ask you what the neighborhood is like, you no longer have to try and describe it in as much detail as possible.
To save time, you can pull up the Citymaps app, search for the area in which they’re buying and send them a shot of the neighborhood with restaurants, points of interest, and other noteworthy tags automatically on the map. Plus, the app doubles as a tool for you to quickly learn about areas you’re unfamiliar with.
How much time do you spend every week learning about different neighborhoods and cities of operation? Well, you can save the bulk of that time by downloading Citymaps on your phone.
Real Estate Marketing Tool #7: Boomerang
If your email inbox is a mess and you spend way too much time trying to siphon through all of it, then Boomerang is the add-on for you. It allows you to easily schedule send-times for emails and press the snooze button on inbox messages, reminding you later about emails you’ve marked as important.
The last thing you want to do is forget to respond to an important email from a prospect or lead. Unfortunately, every real estate professional forgets once in a while. But with Boomerang, you don’t have to.
A more organized life is a more productive life — and email is a massive part of most real estate professional’s daily grind. Boomerang can help you conquer it.
