The Fire That Fuels Your Growth: Our 2 flagship trainings (only available to InvestorCarrot members currently) are now in the Marketplace. But be on the lookout for more advanced training and tools to help you get an edge in your market.

Our members are generating well over 10,000 opt-in leads per month right now (that doesn’t count phone call leads)… and a huge part of it is the combination of the effectiveness of our website platform and the training you can access as an InvestorCarrot member.

Right now you’ll find our Posts 2 Profits Craigslist training and our 3 Lead Per Day (SEO, PPC, Youtube marketing course) in the Carrot Marketplace.

But we plan on launching more Premium Trainings in 2015 (in addition to our weekly LIVE Carrot Coaching Calls FREE to Content Pro members) to help you market effectively on Facebook, use Retargeting to “fetch back” more leads, and more! So keep an eye out for new Premium Trainings.

    Get InvestorCarrot Swag

Why have a company name like Carrot if you’re not going to have fun with it and be loud and proud about it?  Right? :-)

Well, now you can get Carrot Swag right in the marketplace.

    carrot-shirts
    carrot-bud

Want a t-shirt (American Apparel – Made in the USA)? Grab one.

How about some awesome note pads with our Core Values on them… grab those in our “Carrot Swag Bag” which includes a t-shirt, a NEW Carrot Bud doll, Carrot stickers, and our awesome Carrot Idea Pads.

What’s In Store For 2015 With The Carrot Marketplace?

We’re working furiously on developing new features into the software to solidify our place as the leading Inbound Online Marketing platform for Real Estate Investors… which we’ll release to members as we finish them up.

But, we’ve realized that some features don’t make sense to build into every website that is launched. Things like an advanced BirdDog Referral Program system to help you generate bird dogs to find you more deals. Or “built for you” Podio apps to help you better manage your lead flow. Or marketing campaigns that are crushing it for people. Or 1 on 1 strategy consulting with me and our top performing Carrot members to help you bust past your roadblocks and excel… you get the idea.

So be on the lookout for other resources, tools, and website add-ons so you can further leverage InvestorCarrot to reach your goals.

And heck, if you have ideas for great resources, tools, and new functionality for your InvestorCarrot websites please shoot them our way!

Be on the lookout for more announcements about new features and enhancements over the next several months. We’ve got some in store that we know you’re going to LOVE.

Sound Off Below About The New Marketplace!

Hit me w/ comments and questions below… or if you’re not an InvestorCarrot member yet but are considering it, throw your questions my way! We’re here for you and would love for you to be a part of the success that our members are having (10k+ leads per month and growing!).

  • Does The Bounce Rate On Your Website Really Matter?

Does The Bounce Rate On Your Website Really Matter?

At least a half dozen times a week I get emails from our customers and Carrot newsletter subscribers asking a question like…

“I see my bounce rate is 72% and that seems high. Is it? And does the bounce rate on your website really matter?”

First off… you may be wondering what a “bounce rate” for a real estate investor website is… why your bounce rate matters (and why it may not matter much at all)… and whether yours is even high in the first place (because it may not be).

A few things to think about before I dive in… so you know whether this post is for you.

    • Do you value ranking high in Google for phrases your motivated seller, buyers, tenants, private lenders, etc. are searching?
    • Do you want to increase the number of leads you’re getting online?

If so, you’ll want to read this post :-)

    First…

Does The Bounce Rate On Your Website Really Matter?

What Is A Bounce Rate Anyway?
    (in simple terms)

As far as Google is concerned, in their own words, a bounce rate on a website is… “The percentage of single-page sessions on your website”. In simpler terms… the number of visitors to your website who land on your site… then don’t click anything else and visit any other pages on your site.

    Now, that’s the technical term.

But keep in mind… since your real estate investor websites should focus on generating leads… and a certain % of your visitors will just pick up the phone and call you (especially motivated sellers with our InvestorCarrot websites) without clicking on other pages on your website, those visitors will be considered a “bounced” visitor as far as Google is concerned.

So for a lead generation focused website that has a clear call to action for the visitor to pick up the phone and call you, your actual bounce rate may be a tad lower than your Google Analytics bounce report is showing you.

In addition, I’ve been asked hundreds of times… “What is a good bounce rate?”.

    Really that’s a tough question.

It really depends on where your traffic is coming from and what the purpose of your website is.

If you run a news website and you have a bounce rate of 75%… that may not be a bad thing because people tend to read 1 article and then leave.

If you run an online store selling cool gadgets… and your have a 75% bounce rate… that means people aren’t engaging on your site, checking out other items, or placing things in the shopping cart. In that case 75% isn’t a good thing at all.

Last, if your website is geared primarily as a lead generation tool (especially for motivated real estate sellers)… you shouldn’t really expect a bounce rate below 40%. Heck, you likely shouldn’t expect a bounce rate much below 60% on a page specifically geared to get a motivated seller to sell you their house (unless you use one strategy that we’re testing right now that is yielding lower bounce rates but sellers that aren’t as highly motivated in general… but the jury is still out).

As a great basis of comparison… below is a screenshot of the traffic stats from our Carrot customers for this past 7 days.

Actual Traffic Stats From Our Members Websites In The Past 7 Days

bounce rate for real estate investors websites
Thousands Of Leads… have been generated by Carrot members and top search engine rankings for tons of competitive phrases have been grabbed or held in this past week. The AVERAGE bounce rate is 66.54%… is that good? See below…

Why Can Your Bounce Rate Sometimes Be A Big Deal (and when you should not pay much attention to it)?

Before you check your Google Analytics account and freak out because your bounce rate is 75%… just know that your bounce rate isn’t anything to really sweat over unless you’re really focusing hard on SEO and the conversation rate of your website and are in a place where you’re starting to ramp up your traffic to your website.

If you’re just now getting rolling with your website… or haven’t really started to focus on generating SEO traffic much… skip the rest of this post and go out there and focus on generating traffic to your website first.

NOTE: If you’re an InvestorCarrot member, you can have access to our 3 Lead Per Day training for just $99 that walks through in simple steps how to generate traffic to your websites, rank better, and cut the learning curve. If you’re not generating more than 100 visitors a month to your site yet… don’t worry about your bounce rate! Worry about getting more people to your website first, bounce rate later.

Bounce rate is something we’ve focused on with the way we’ve built our InvestorCarrot websites… so you don’t have to worry about that stuff if you’re a Carrot member.

If you have a website you’ve built yourself, on another system, or had a web guy build one for you who isn’t an expert in real estate investing lead generation… and you’re ready to ramp your leads up… your bounce rate is something you should have an eye on.

Here are a couple of the main reasons you should keep an eye on your bounce rate as a real estate investor.

Bounce Rate Can Affect Your SEO Rankings

It’s been long known that Google looks at hundreds of factors when deciding where your website should rank.

Several of those factors are what are called “user signals”… which are things that the actual website visitor does based on the quality of your website.

According to a recent report put out by SearchMetrics, both Time on Site and Bounce Rate show a positive correlation… that websites that rank in the top 10 in Google tend to have good bounce rates and a longer than average time on site.

    sdf
There is a slight positive correlation... to having a low bounce rate and longer than average “time on site” by the visitor… as seen by Search Metrics in this recent report. This picture above is just one part of the full report of all SEO ranking correlations.

Your bounce rate isn’t one of the first things I’d tell an investor to focus on to increase your rankings… but if you’re struggling to crack into page 1 or rise up page 1 for a search term like “sell house fast DC” or something… take a look and see if your bounce rate is 70% +… or your time on site is less than about 100 seconds.

If it is — you should do something about it for sure.

With InvestorCarrot, to give you a basis of comparison on the “time on site” metric, below are 2 snapshots from our own Google Analytics account.

Avg. Time On Site For The Past 12 Months Across Hundreds Of Investor Websites

    average time on site
Avg. Time On Site… for InvestorCarrot websites the past 12 months. This takes into consideration the seasonally slower and less responsive winter months for buyers and sellers.

Avg. Time On Site For The Busy Warm Months In 2014 Across Hundreds Of Investor Websites

    asfd
As a comparison… the average time on site and bounce rate in the “busy” warm months for seller leads

If you see your bounce rate more than what you see above or your time on site less than what you see above (especially if your average visitor stays less than 100 seconds on site)… check out InvestorCarrot.

Those rates are the average rates across our platform… so some members websites are doing MUCH better because they’re driving more highly targeted and quality traffic… while others are driving lower quality traffic that may “bounce” much more quickly.

In the end, your bounce rate and time on site are factors that can affect your search engine rankings… but don’t spend a lot of time on them if you haven’t even focused on the higher leverage activities you can do to rank better first.

Bounce Rate Is An Indicator On Whether Your Site Is Converting Well Or Not

Another thing that the bounce rate is a leading indicator for… is how well your website is performing.

If your website is geared to convert visitors to leads and you have a bounce rate over 80% lets say, you can bet that the website likely isn’t performing very well on the conversion side of things.

But, does a bounce rate of 70% mean that your website isn’t converting well?

    Not necessarily.

In some markets with PPC marketing, a 9-14% conversion rate is a solid conversion rate for motivated sellers. You could conceivably have a website with a 70% bounce rate and still have a respectable conversion rate of a lead.

What To Do About Your Website Bounce Rate And Let’s Eliminate The Bounce Rate Fear Today…

If you’re not generating much traffic or leads yet… you shouldn’t even be worrying about bounce rate at all. You should be focusing on the higher leverage things to get traffic to your site. Bounce rate is priority number 1,004 on your list of things to worry about at this point.

As an InvestorCarrot member, go through our SEO tools and training… our Craigslist Marketing Course, etc. And heck, our system already has a very good bounce rate and among the best time on site stats in the industry.

If you’re not a Carrot member, no sweat. There are lots of things you can do to start ranking better in Google and getting more leads. In fact, we have free resources here on this website that’ll help you do that.

If you are on page 1 or close… and are having a tough time getting that #1 ranking and you have a bounce rate over 70%… you may want to see what you can do to improve your bounce rate and time on site… it could help give you an edge in Google’s eyes.

Ways To Reduce Your Bounce Rate

    1. Join InvestorCarrot so your website loads faster, is mobile optimized, has better and more engaging content that keeps people on your website longer, and has the conversion elements built into the website to convert higher than the average real estate investing website.
    2. If you’re not on InvestorCarrot, if you’re using just a squeeze page… stop! Use a full lead generation website to ramp up your time on site and lower your bounce rate (and increase your leads).
    3. Write better and more powerful content that engages the person on your site.
    4. Stop using videos that auto play when someone lands on your site (that’s a bounce rate killer).
    5. Make the first impression of your website be a good one. It should feel credible, inviting, and make a connection with the visitor.

In the end, don’t fret about bounce rate if you haven’t started to generate more than 100 visitors a month through your SEO or PPC so far.

And if you have a bounce rate over 70% but are still getting great leads… don’t sweat it! Focus on the big things that will help you drive more traffic and improve conversions… and if you keep doing the right things and keep building your website to provide value to your web visitors your bounce rate may just take care of itself.

  • Our 7 Biggest Wins And 3 Biggest “Failures”… Our First Full Year In Business

Our 7 Biggest Wins And 3 Biggest “Failures”… Our First Full Year In Business

    2015.01.01-year-in-review

I’m sure you’re thinking the same thing… but it’s been insane how darn fast 2014 flew by. It seems like just last week I was sitting at a local coffee shop I like to hang out at on “non office days” writing up my 2014 goals… and getting with our team and jotting down how we’d rule the world in 2014.

And the funny / scary thing is… the years only get faster.

Before we know it we’ll be looking back on 2015 reviewing how the year went… and asking ourselves if we did what we wanted to do the previous 12 months.

That to me is a huge motivator. Knowing that time is going to pass whether I get focused, excited, and make stuff happen or not. So we might as well give it all we’ve got… ignore the naysayers… and crush it in life and business.

So… with the end of our first full year in business here at InvestorCarrot… providing what high achieving real estate investors all over the country are calling “the best real estate investor websites I’ve seen” again and again (we’re attracting more top notch investors in each market than any other website system for real estate investors)… I want to dive into some of the things the InvestorCarrot community was able to achieve in 2014… some of our biggest wins and failures as a young company… and what you’re in store for in 2015 as an InvestorCarrot community member (whether you’re an active customer of ours or not… you’ll benefit BIG TIME in 2015).

7 Things We’re Insanely Proud Of For 2014

2014 was a great year for us as a company and for our customers… here’s 7 things we’re proud as heck of for 2014.

    1. Tons Of Customer Love And RESULTS (Leads and Deals) In Our Thread Of Awesomeness

Around the start of 2014 we started something we call the “Thread of Awesomeness” here at InvestorCarrot as an internal team tool to help us all keep our eye on why we do what we do. Each week… when any member of our team interacts with a customer who has an AWESOME result or experience… we throw it into this chat thread that we use internally as a team… called The Thread of Awesomeness.

I wish I could show you all of the hundreds of awesome comments customers sent us in 2014 (we averaged 7 per week!)… but this snapshot below from just 1 week in December is a pretty good representation of the types of “AWESOMENESS” happening for our Carrot members using our system.

That stuff keeps us motivated to do what we do… and our team

    investor carrot reviews awesomeness
Our Thread Of Awesomeness: A snapshot of just a few things our customers sent to us in 1 week of December on the results they’re getting with their InvestorCarrot websites! That’s AWESOME right there!

    2. Nearly 500% Increase In Traffic and Leads For Our Customers!

This kind of speaks for itself. Almost a 500% increase in traffic to our customers websites.

    traffic-growth-investor-carrot

A few cool stats for the year…

    • 2,052,930 page views
    • 656,736 visitors
    • Nearly 1 million visits
    • An average visit time of almost 2 and a half minutes (average… our most successful members are seeing a time on site of over 3 minutes!)
    • And this winter our customers generated nearly 10,000 leads per month to their websites (and growing)

    3. Spreading Carrot Delight To Our Customers With Crazy Great Support!

One thing I said I wouldn’t compromise going into launching InvestorCarrot was on support. In fact… “delivering wow” to our customers is one of our Carrot Core Values (which we both live by and work by). To us here at InvestorCarrot great customer experiences is a heck of a lot more fun than crappy customer experiences. It makes it fun coming into work when the customers you work with really like ya.

Customers can rate their experience with us when they connect with us through support and over this past 12 months 90% of our customers rated us as having GREAT service, 8% rated our support Okay and 2% poor (can’t make everyone happy eh :-)… that’s on 3,233 tickets we resolved for our customers in 2014!

    InvestorCarrot-customer-rating
How Our Customers Rated Our Customer Service In 2014: 90% rated us as “GREAT”, 8% rated us Good… the other 2%… can’t make everyone happy :-)

Another cool metric we’re proud as heck of… that 98% of InvestorCarrot member support requests were replied to within 24 hours… 89% in under 6 hours… and most in under 1 hour during work hours! Try us and see :-)

    98% Of Support
98% Of Your Support Requests were replied to within less than 24 hours during work hours… 89% in under 6 hours. Most under 1 hour!!! That’s fast and the best in the industry.

    4. Our Carrot Team Grew Stronger

    sdfa
The Core Of InvestorCarrot: Here’s a pic of part of our team here at InvestorCarrot in a recent “in-office” day when the team was working from our headquarters in Roseburg, Oregon. Not all of our team lives in Roseburg… so we have bi-weekly “in-office” days so we can work in person!

Going into 2014 we had a full-time team of 5. With a couple team adjustments and shifts over 2014… we re-focused on the core of what we’re great at… and brought aboard a kick butt new team member in November… and strengthened our relationships with a few key partners to help in areas where we’re not ready to build in-house teams quite yet.

    5. Releasing Dozens And Dozens Of Software Updates, Trainings, And Complete New Features
    (like sms alerts and more!)

During 2014 we held 50+ LIVE weekly Carrot Coaching Calls (which are included in all Content Pro plans at no additional cost), simplified the software over the way it was to end 2013, added additional features like sms / text message lead alerts, more integrations like Zapier, simplified YouTube video embeds, Content Pro content marketing system, and more!

We’re releasing updates to the software on an almost daily basis… and plan to ramp that effort up in 2015 to really focus on a few big game changers for our customers to help you generate more traffic and leads. Keep an eye out :-)

    6. Restarting Our Carrot Blog With Great, Useful Content To Help You Grow

    new-investor-carrot-blog

In November we launched the new design of this blog and renewed our commitment to bringing you behind the scenes content that will help you move the needle in your business each week to generate more leads, rank your websites better, increase your website conversion, and improve your happiness as an entreprenuer.

Keep an eye out for our weekly posts in your inbox and join in the conversation each week!

In fact, what do you want us to write about more in 2015? Let me know in the comments below :-)

    7. Growing A Profitable, Fun, And Effective Business Starting With Just Our Sweat, Focus, And Hard Work

Too many companies try to hide the “sensitive” parts of their business from their customers… like revenues and profits… but really there’s no need to hide your successes or failures from your clients.

In fact, by growing a profitable company it’s actually a great thing for customers. That means more cash for innovation, more cash for building an even stronger support team (which we’re looking to hire another Customer Success Hero in early 2015!), more cash to move faster to keep YOU… our customers ahead of the curve from your competition.

So we’re proud as heck that we’ve grown a company this past year and a half that is very profitable, without outside funding, with a small team 100% based here in Oregon, that is doing great things for (and with) our customers. Without this big win… the other “wins” above honestly wouldn’t matter… and we’ll continue to grow and manage this company to ensure stability and innovation for our customers and our own families in 2015 and beyond.

3 Biggest “Failures” And How We’ll Improve Them In 2015

With the great year we had… also came some bumps and bruises that we survived. Most of them were self inflicted and totally avoidable… but lessons we had to learn in order to grow stronger to the point we are today.

    1. Losing Focus Of Who Our Core Customer Is

This is a biggie. At times during the year we lost our way and created things in our software and marketing efforts that focused on the wrong customer. Our ideal customer is a high achieving investor. Someone who is motivated, who isn’t using real estate as a new business “opportunity”… but rather a serious career, and who is ready and willing to invest time, money, or both to accelerate their results online.

You’ll see a tighter focus on this type of person in 2015 which will dramatically improve your results.

    2. Not Building The Business WE Wanted To Build

It’s really easy to listen to outsiders and let their opinions influence the way you live life and grow your real estate investing business. We did that a bit too much at times this past year as well… growing InvestorCarrot at times in directions that really didn’t resonate with me at my core on the reason we created this company in the first place.

Now with a renewed focus on our vision, why we exist as a company, our ideal customer that we can help the most, and the life we want to live… we’re already on an exciting and more focused track to crushing it in 2015… the way WE WANT TO DO IT.

    3. Lack Of Organization And Focus At Times Led Us In Wrong Directions

This one is honestly directed mainly at me as the CEO of the company.

This has always been a weakness of mine and something I’m continually working to improve. me personally… not being as organized as the leader of the company as I need to be. Which led to things like announcing releases in the software and training and not hitting many of the dates I put out there, etc.

So the last 2 months I’ve personally had to make a renewed commitment to being more organized. My team has helped with this a lot and we’re now relying better on systems to track our projects, communicate better as a team, and be more focused and clear on our goals and objectives each month and week.

I’ll write a post in 2015 walking through what we’ve done to really start the transformation to working more focused, organized, and be less busy on a daily basis.

Some Things To Expect From InvestorCarrot In 2015

As great of a year it was in 2014… it won’t compare to the year we have planned out for 2015.

Yes, we’ll be continuing to build out the best inbound online marketing platform for real estate investors with additions to help you rank your websites better and easier, track your rankings instantly, increase the conversions on your websites even further, get more leads, manage those leads more easily with systems (like Podio, coming soon), and more!

But what we’re going to really focus on in 2015 is not just features… but finding better ways to help you get personalized guidance to get you the results you want in your business and your life.

    This includes…

    1. Our New Marketplace – Soon you’ll be able more easily find the tools, resources, training, and help to get you even better results. Look out for this in January 2015
    2. More Industry Best Training Opportunities– Our Carrot members have come to know and love our weekly LIVE Coaching Calls with me and our other team members… but we want to spread the love in 2015. Starting in January everyone in our Carrot community can come to a new monthly training call open to all subscribers to our email list.
    3. More Personal Guidance – Our customers have asked, and we’re making it easier for you to get more personalized help as you need it as a Carrot member. This means more ways to connect with people who can help you implement your SEO, PPC, and lead gen strategy… more ways to get tailored action plans to what you need to do to get results in your market.
    4. Honing Our Inbound Lead Generation Tools Within Carrot – We’re proud of what InvestorCarrot has grown to become. But we have a greater vision for how we can make your life easier and more profitable in 2015 with better tools to help you rank your website, generate more leads more easily, and spend less time customizing things on your websites… and more time doing what you love to do.

We’re really excited about 2015 and are thankful for a great community of investors who are really supporting what we’re doing here at InvestorCarrot to help transform the way high achieving real estate investors use the internet to grow their real estate business.

Contacting Your Leads Within An Hour Increases Your Chances Of Success By 7 Times…

An article from the Harvard Business Review detailed the importance of response time when following up with a lead. According to the study,

“Companies that try to contact potential customers within an hour of receiving queries are nearly 7 times as likely to have meaningful conversations with key decision makers as firms that try to contact prospects even an hour later. Yet only 37% of companies respond to queries within an hour.”

That’s 7 times the chance of connecting with that motivated house seller, cash buyer, private lender, or tenant… just because you’re responding within the first hour.

If you’re responding within the first 10 minutes… can you imagine the impact that’ll have on the trust and rapport you’ll build with the seller?

This statistic is not surprising, considering how technology has increased expectations of how we communicate.

Motivated house sellers who call you up or submit info on your website have a lot of things to get done and want their problem with their house solved quickly… and hanging around for a callback isn’t something they want to do.

So how can you give yourself an edge with each motivated seller lead that comes through your website? Call them back immediately. And you can do this by ensuring you get your leads’ real-time notifications.

    How can you do that?

Why Just Relying On Email Lead Notifications May Be Costing You Deals And Profits

If you’re like me, you get a lot of emails.

That’s a lot of distraction in the inbox competing for your attention… and if your only way of receiving a lead from your real estate investment website is via email… you may be at risk of missing the email… see it hours later… or it being filtered out as spam by an overzealous spam filter.

Since just 1 hour makes such a massive difference when talking to motivated sellers… how can we ensure that you know about every lead that comes in as soon as the seller submits it?

Use Our New “Instant SMS Notifications” Feature to Reduce Your Own Response Time Immediately

At Carrot, we constantly strive for incremental improvements in our software to deliver the best value to our members.

To help you as a real estate agent or investor reduce response time, we include a simple feature that can be activated on your existing Carrot website forms in seconds.

Instant SMS Notifications are a simple way to send real-time lead information directly to your cell phone as a text message.

    SMS-Notification-Dashboard-View

Part of responding to leads quickly is having the right system in place.

This software feature goes one step beyond a basic tool to send texts and allows customization and smart information to be sent. In order to call a customer back and have a meaningful conversation, it is important to know relevant information… and have it right there at your fingertips when the lead comes in.

Why Do I Need A Text Message? Can’t I Just Check My Email?

Yep, you totally can! But what if you’re in an area where you don’t have access to wifi or your cell coverage in that area isn’t good enough to really pull up and load your email client quickly?

I’ve been in areas sometimes (even in the middle of big cities) where my Gmail app literally can’t pull up my emails because the data connection is so poor.

But… my phone can get text messages just fine.

That alone could be the difference between a 10-minute response time vs. a 3-hour response time and losing the deal to another agent or investor who called the prospect back more quickly.

When You’re On The Go… Relevant Information Is Key

When calling a lead back, knowing some basic info about them and their situation is essential.

Their time is valuable, and being unprepared with a quick call only fixes half of their problem.

So with our Instant SMS Notifications, we’ll give you the vital contact info of the new lead in an instant text… along with a quick “tap and go” link to access your Carrot account where the rest of the info they submitted is stored if you want to see the full data right away.

    sms-form-options

If you have their callback information, see their question, their email, and where they came from on your website, the conversation can proceed without time spent on minor details.

How To Set Up Your Automated Instant Text Notifications On Your Carrot Account Today

The following tutorial will assist you in setting up SMS Notifications on forms. From there, you will receive a text message with relevant information based on where the user opt-ins on your website and any other relevant data.

Heck, you don’t even have to be in a major town.

All it takes is passion and a whole lot of dedication and hard work… and anything is possible.

Thanks to all of our dedicated members for helping us grow our little business.

We totally appreciate your support and encouragement.

“Young entrepreneurs are having a big impact on our economy, and it’s so powerful to have so many of these leaders in a room together,” said Sheena Lindahl, Co-Founder of the Empact Showcase. “Many of the companies are social enterprises that are also making a huge difference in people’s lives. It is never an easy road to build a successful organization, and we believe it’s important to celebrate all the spirit and grit these entrepreneurs have put into making the world a better place.

  • Wish Kyle Luck On His New Journey And A Big Thanks!

Wish Kyle Luck On His New Journey And A Big Thanks!

I write this blog post with mixed feelings.

oncarrot kyleBoth bummed at losing such a great team member… someone who has been at InvestorCarrot since almost the beginning (longer than anyone else on the team currently)… but also excited as heck for my brother for taking the next step in his own career to follow his passions and make big things happen in life.

If you didn’t pick it up already, Kyle Mauch (my younger brother) is doing what most people hope to do in their lives… pursue their dream and build a business around their biggest passions.

The End Of An Era, And Beginning Of A Journey

Kyle joined Carrot (before it was called InvestorCarrot) and has worked in pretty much every role (except programmer) in the company. He was the heart and soul of our awesome Customer Support at the beginning… has helped with marketing… with our affiliate program… and overall picked up the slack when we didn’t have the revenue to add new team members in the beginning.

Kyle definitely took one for the team in the beginning and really grew as a team member and entrepreneur while we worked together.

Also during that time Kyle started a company based on his passions.

The past 2 years he’s been working on a business called Athletes Brand, which is a high end apparel company focused on creating the best off-field apparel for athletes.

It’s been amazing seeing what Kyle has done with Athletes Brand… from an idea of just making t-shirts with clever graphics and quotes on them for sports fans… into having dozens of some of the highest profile athletes in the world wearing his clothes.

From Olympians, All-Star baseball players, top soccer players, musicians, and more.

    Athletes_Brand-2

Heck, he was even featured on a national TV advertising campaign for GoDaddy where I was lucky enough to travel with him to North Carolina where he got to pitch his business idea to Danica Patrick while going around the Charlotte Motor Speedway at 125mph+.

It was a pretty wild experience for all of us (video below)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dA02x_bymE0

    What’s Next For Kyle?

I’ll be a part of Kyle’s journey from here on out in his journey to grow as an entrepreneur and make a big difference in the lives of people around the world.

But.. up next… he’s tackling a few huge projects with Athletes Brand.

From a new line of clothes… a live music and brew festival here in Oregon in 2015… and a KickStarter campaign to help launch his business and the new line.

So, if you want to follow along and see Kyle’s journey… head over to his website at www.AthletesBrand.com and join his email notification list… and like his page over on Facebook here <<

Let’s All Wish Kyle Luck And Thank Him For Helping Make InvestorCarrot What It Is Today Below!

Shoot Kyle a quick comment below to encourage him to kick some ass out there in the business world.

As you know… us entrepreneurs can use all of the support and encouragement we can get.

And, check out some of his apparel and awesome accessories (beanies, wrist bands, bags, etc.) over at his website.

If you like something… pick up a shirt! My favorite is the #belief t.

But you can see the whole line of clothing by clicking the graphic below.

So Kyle… we all thank you for your time here at Carrot… appreciate the heck outta you… and wish you luck in dominating the world with your passion and entrepreneurial chops.

    Go get ’em!

  • Big Announcement: InvestorCarrot is now Rebranding to InvestorTurnip To Capture The Rising Trend Of Turnip Interest Online

Big Announcement: InvestorCarrot is now Rebranding to InvestorTurnip To Capture The Rising Trend Of Turnip Interest Online

NOTE: 4/2 – APRIL FOOLS! – Thanks for with us on our April Fools gag. It was a blast! Some people really loved the new “branding”… some thought we were off our rockers! But everyone had a blast with it. Of course Carrot is going NOWHERE and we’re excited at the future of InvestorCarrot and our customers :-) Now… 364 more days to plan next years April fools… ;-)

    carrotsvsturnip

For the past year, our team over here at Carrot has been working hard to help you grow your real estate businesses… and have fun doing it.  We’ve grown from zero customers to well over 500 active members now… and growing each and every week.

Yes, we’ve had some stumbles as we’ve grown and some growing pains… but we’re proud to say that we’re starting to make our little dent in the universe one Carrot member at a time.  We literally get testimonials and stories from our members every single day talking about how Carrot has literally changed their businesses.

In fact, here’s another deal that one of our awesome customers closed this week because of leads she got from her InvestorCarrot websites (way to go Britt!!!!).

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 9.48.45 PM

NOTE: See her comment in that post on where she says all of her leads come from. Online in her case = InvestorCarrot. We love it!

With All Of The Deals, Leads, Great Conversions, Fun Carrot Bud Shares… It’s Time For A Change.

Our Carrot staffer April Phouls doodling the heck outta our whiteboard to map out our bigger better future. See the full whiteboard here

Around the start of 2014 we really got to looking at things.

We looked at the future of Carrot as a company, a product, our customers needs and goals… and saw things in a bigger brighter future.

We mapped out our next “evolution” of Carrot as a brand… a product… and a force to help change the world… and in the end, decided that with a huge strategy shift… should come a fresh new brand identity to usher in this new era here at our company.

Announcing Our New Name: Turnip (InvestorTurnip). Yep, that’s right… let’s “Turn It Up With Turnip!

    turnip_logo_previewNow, I know what you’re thinking.

    First off, why?

Why turnip? Wasn’t Carrot just perfectly fine?

Well, we didn’t come to this decision lightly. We really loved (and still do) the Carrot name.

Our members have come to love the Carrot Bud (our mascot) sightings… getting a random Carrot gift in the mail when you do something cool with our company… and the all around great feeling you get when you see the color Orange all over the place.

We get it. We loved “InvestorCarrot”.

But we’re all about staying ahead of the curve.

Whether it’s keeping our technology at the cutting edge so you as our customer stay at the cutting edge… or continually providing epic training to help you stay sharp…

… and we did some research and noticed that the brand of carrots in general (the vegetable) has remained stagnant over recent years… while the brand of turnips has actually increased in popularity with Americans.

Since we’re all geeky with Google search data… we ran some reports and found that Google Trends shows that turnips have really grown in popularity over carrots in the past decade.  See the chart below from Google Trends.

And we don’t want to have our brand attached to a “dying” vegetable.

Turnips are the future. And InvestorTurnip is your future.

    carrots-vs-turnips2
The Growing Popularity of the Turnip: Are Carrots dying? We’re not going to wait around to find out.

Further Research That Helped Shape Our Rebranding Decision

When I initially came up with the “InvestorCarrot” brand back in late 2012… I really loved the ring of the name “Carrot”.

But I really didn’t do any “market research” on people’s perception of the Carrot.

Once I saw the startling data above (that Carrots are losing popularity to Turnips) I decided to actually do the right thing this time around… and put in some time in market research. As we all know, your brand can be HUGE in how people perceive you.

Name a shoe company “Slow Shoes”… and you’re dead in the water. But “Air Jordans”… and the sky is the limit.

So surprisingly, once I got out there and started asking around and doing “blind taste tests”… I started to see the same.

In fact, at my daughters pre-school we ran a taste test with a bunch of 3 – 5 year olds... kids who have grown up on “Go-Gurt” (is that even real yogurt? I’m still not sure… ) and baby carrots (kids these days don’t even know what a real carrot actually looks like! They think they all grow to be just “baby carrots”)… as you can see in the picture below…

Turnips beat out carrots by a wide margin in this taste test

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 10.20.50 PM
Little Henry munching on a little turnip. Kid tested and kid approved!

Kids are our future… and if this company wants to stay relevant and “on the cutting edge”… we feel that by getting on the turnip bandwagon before the majority of American’s realize there’s even a band wagon to get on… we’ll be setting a trend and get a lot of early adopters who just like to be the “first” to do the new cool thing

We feel that turnips are iN

… and Carrots are on the way out.

We found some interesting facts about the turnip that we really loved too… check them out on the Turnip Wikipedia page. I think you’ll find them pretty darn awesome too.

How Does This Affect You As A Carrot / Turnip Member?

Screen Shot 2014-03-31 at 10.54.40 PM

First off, if you’re already an InvestorTurnip member (all members have been migrated to our new InvestorTurnip platform effective today) you don’t have to do anything.

Just toss out the Carrot Bud doll if you were lucky enough to get one (or save it as a collectors item and sell it on ebay someday)… and we’ll soon be coming out with our new “Terry the Turnip” mascot dolls… and our new Turnip t-shirts that are almost done with production. More on that soon.

There are a couple things you’ll need to do though before your Carrot account is fully operational on our new InvestorTurnip account.

Follow the quick steps below today and lets usher in the new era and welcome in our new brand identity of InvestorTurnip!

Step 1: Post a quick comment below (and “like” this post) and let us know about your excitement for the new branding! Research shows you’re bound to love it! But we’d love to hear. Comment below!

Step 2: Just so you’re up on the “latest” turnip factoids (and the surprising but true meaning of the word “turnip”… head over to the wikipedia turnip page << Check it out

Step 3: We haven’t 100% committed to the whole “InvestorTurnip” brand yet, our lawyers (dontcha love ’em?) are looking into any possible trademark infringements or other legalities that may prevent us from going all “turnip” on ya. So keep a look out for future announcements.

Don’t read this if you’re already earning over $50,000 per month.

    We’re looking for a few good partners…

Wanna grow your passive income with Carrot and help other investors succeed at the same time?

    So, interesting story…

Over the last 6 months or so we’ve had lots of Carrot customers ask us this question…

“I love InvestorCarrot! Can I refer other people to Carrot and earn a commission on the referral?”

We were so darn focused on creating a great product for real estate investors looking for the best possible system for generating inbound traffic and leads… we neglected to let our members spread the word about our system.

So we did create an affiliate program (we call it our Partner Program) last year… and as you’ll see today and in the coming week… we’re really rolling out our efforts to support our Partners in an even bigger way now. More on that in a bit.

    But back to our customers.

We now have a bunch of Carrot customers who joined our Partner Program and are making solid passive income helping other investors leverage our system.

We even have a few customers who are selling consulting locally… then setting their clients up on InvestorCarrot and making money helping them leverage our system (while the client pays THEM money each month).

Our biggest referral Partners currently get checks in the thousands each month as passive income (and we haven’t even made it easy for them to promote us up until this point!)

    Crazy, right?

So the other day, I was at a party talking to a powerful executive for a huge company. I told him that another business owner was using our system to make 5X more than we were charging by leveraging our platform and helping his clients get great results for their real estate investment businesses.

He told me to immediately fire that guy, because we were “leaving money on the table”.

But I laughed at him. I don’t think he gets it.

He was telling me all about how I needed to hire a bunch more folks and “capture the market”.

That’s what made me crack up: I started picturing the Monopoly guy trapped in a cage. “We captured the market!”

    Ha!

Ok, maybe it’s not so funny…

But that’s how the old Titans of Industry used to think! And clearly, some of them still do.

This guy is part of that old set, and frankly I think he’s struggling.

That part isn’t funny at all… it’s sad.

His first thought is how he can crush the market and take every cent of profit out of it for himself…

… our mindset is “How can we work with our Carrot customers to help THEM make even more money by leveraging our system even more… to help OTHER people in the process?”.

We realize (and so do our most successful Carrot members) that there’s more than enough wealth and income to go around… if we just provide a ton of value to those we’re out there to help.  Heck, even if you and 10 other investors are in the exact same city and you all use Carrot… it’s not a bad thing. It can actually be a good thing.

Other investors aren’t your competitors… they’re your potential collaborators… and the more you can help THEM be successful… the more successful you’ll be.

That guy above is not thinking like a successful investor.

He’s thinking like someone who is just now realizing exactly how much retirement is going to cost him, since that Golden Parachute didn’t inflate the way he’d hoped.

He’s thinking like someone who is insecure. He doesn’t have the confidence of a seasoned real estate investor and he thinks that by someone else doing well that it detracts from him (which is the opposite of the truth).

I’ve been really lucky in my life – I’ve gotten to meet a lot of ultra-rich people. Most of them radiate confidence. Some haven’t been able to shake the insecurity of poverty. But the really wealthy ones – not necessarily the ones with the most money… but the people who are truly secure in life… those people shine.

    This guy was not shining.

    But listen, I told him.

“We don’t want them to stop making money off of our platform. Our company’s goal is to help people make money and improve their lives and the lives of others off of what we’ve built. It’s pretty great for all of us actually.”

That’s called a platform business, I told him – and I pulled out my iPhone to explain.

The iPhone is a great example of a platform business. It brought together people who never knew they needed each other.

16-must-have-iphone-apps-for-broadcastingI mean, come on – 10 years ago, who knew that 100 million people needed Angry Birds?

But seriously – we’re building InvestorCarrot because we want to plant something powerful and watch it grow. We want a huge harvest so everyone can feast together.

InvestorCarrot is a platform business because it brings people together on a common platform and lifts up everyone who chooses to leverage it well.

Being a platform business means that other people will get rich off our system… not just one “owner” – but a whole community of people building wealth together.

And that’s fine by us. We love helping people to build wealth.

Wealth beyond just money… Personal wealth, emotional wealth, spiritual wealth – there are so many layers to the emotional intangibles of fulfillment, what makes us deeply satisfied with life, and stable for a strong future.

See, wealth never happens without relationships – not just who you know, but how you interact with other people… In business, relationships are worth a ton.

We’re big believers in the power of collaboration.

    InvestorCarrot helps people to grow.

Wealth building is about boosting up other people – it’s about community development. We’re developing our local community – and the InvestorCarrot community.

We’re Looking For A Few Good Partners

We don’t want just anyone. We want strong minded people who think like business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs who want to build wealth for themselves, their families, and their communities by helping others succeed.

There’s a few ways that InvestorCarrot can help those kind of people to earn great money – even big bucks.

I’m going to get into specifics, but first – indulge me as I tell you a story about the heart, soul and meaning of our company:

We know we’ve built a pretty awesome system, and it’s working really well.

In just the past week I’ve talked to two different users of our system that are new investors.

Separate mentors referred each of them to InvestorCarrot just a couple of months ago to build their very first sites and start generating leads.

They paid for the training, they worked really hard in their local markets, and they are each closing multiple deals this month.

There were a couple of stumbles.

It wasn’t easy. They were scared. They took risks that might not have paid off… but they did.

They’ve each already made over $15,000 in the past 45 days from leads they got on the system. They’re on the way to more deals. Leads are coming in every day because they built a solid marketing engine for their business. (NOTE: Does this mean it’ll happen to you too? Nope. These members decided to make it work, put in the focus, and did what we instructed. No excuses. Just action.)

Dude, I can’t tell you how happy that makes us.

It’s not just about the money.

It’s allowed at least one single mom (that I know about) to quit her job and focus on building her investment business full-time.

She’s able to live the dream of being her own boss – and making a lot more money than she was getting in a paycheck.

That matters so much. My mom was a single mom… I watched her struggle to pay the bills, crying when she couldn’t afford enough groceries… So it’s deeply personal for me and very satisfying to be a part of a team that’s helping single moms to become financially independent.

Now, that won’t work like that for everyone. There are a lot of factors that create the success of a real estate investor. Luck plays a huge role.

Hey, we all wanna get lucky, right? ;)

    But back to our story:

We started with websites for real estate investors – and that will always be our main focus and niche.

Real estate is very special, and we love it. It’s the best single way to build wealth that we know of when you do it right.

    We’re Real Estate Entrepreneurs.

    Just Like You.

We want what you want – lifestyles of freedom and autonomy. Our goal is not to work insane amounts of hours shackled to a cubicle – like you, we love to get out there and enjoy life. Our investments work for us – we don’t want to get stuck working for our investments.

We prefer to grow our business just like real estate – with leverage.

By leveraging our system as one of our referral Partners, you can add a big check from us to your bank account each month.

We’re already paying a few dozen affiliates some decent sized checks simply for telling others about InvestorCarrot and how it can help them grow their own real estate business.

Remember that guy I mentioned in the beginning?

The one who is making thousands of dollars each month by providing a great consulting service and leveraging our system for their websites?

I want to tell you a little bit more about what he’s doing, but I can’t tell you the details yet… so forgive me if I seem a little vague.

But he’s doing something that we do too… it’s a behavior we really seek in partners… remember? Leverage… exerting minimal effort for maximum result.

He’s leveraging his real estate investment knowledge by helping out other entrepreneurs. He’s charging a lot for his services, of course.

He’s acting as a mentor in so many ways… he’s providing expertise on marketing, strategy and more.

There’s a ton that this guy is doing to add value for his clients, and it makes them money each month while the leads pour in through their InvestorCarrot sites.

He provides the service… then has his clients get websites setup on InvestorCarrot because it’s fast, easy, and effective.

Who Is The Perfect Person For Our Partner Program?

We absolutely LOVE our bigger partners… the people who can send a ton of customers our way each month (50+).  But they’re few and far between.

However, our favorite people to have in our Partner Program are our InvestorCarrot users who are using the system themselves… getting results… see the benefits… and become evangelists for us and spread the word far and wide.

Like Adrian N. out of West Virginia who has been a Carrot member for quite a while… and has already referred over 7 or 8 other new members… who are also now getting great results.

Like David B. out of New York who is an active investor himself… but also an expert online marketer. He’s now consistently referring members over simply because he uses Carrot himself… loves it… and its quick and easy to get rolling (even if you’re an advanced online marketer like him).

Like Scott C. and now a new Partner Sharon V. who are active investors… but also well respected bloggers. They are paying InvestorCarrot members themselves and spread the word about their experience with InvestorCarrot to other investors through our Partner Program… and earn commission each and every month in the process.

We want Partners who are hungry to grow, hungry to help others, and hungry to add another stream of income to their bank account each month.

If you’re earning less than $50k a month right now in your business… helping us spread the Carrot word and platform to other investors can help you add an extra $100, $500, $1k, $3k/mo+ to your bottom line.

All I know is that I want hungry people who are on their way to huge wealth to team up with InvestorCarrot. We’re planting a big garden together, and we want to share the harvest.
