Purchasing a Domain: Where and Best Practices!

Here are some helpful tips and suggestions on where to purchase a domain. As well as how to choose a domain that’s effective, and SEO friendly, and why not to overthink the process of choosing your domain name.

How to Choose?

There are many things to consider when purchasing a domain name; however, we don’t recommend choosing domain names based on SEO. Domain names have a very small percentage when it comes to ranking a site for a specific keyword. It’s so minute that we don’t recommend using these keyword-specific domains because they tend to be rather long and aren’t always great for credibility.

Rather, we recommend choosing domain names that help the credibility or your business and that help set rapport for your visitors as soon as they come to the site. Most buyers and sellers will resonate with a domain name that has the action they are looking to take. For example, you will see a lot of seller sites with domains such as:
sellmyhousefastdenver.com – this is a keyword, short, easy to spell, and gives the action
richardbuyshouses.com – this relays who you are and what you do
cmshousebuyers.com – this is company-specific and tells what you do
